How do you apply a screen protector to an iPhone without getting bubbles & lint?
Question by : How do you apply a screen protector to an iPhone without getting bubbles & lint?
I’ve had my iPhone for about 2 months & my 4-yr-old got the screen protector extremely dirty. I replaced the original protector, but got bubbles & lint & smudges. Now my phone looks like it has chicken pox! Lol! How can I get the bubbles out? I’m going to start from scratch with a new protector. Or can I save the one I just put on?

As you apply the protector on to your iPhone, use a book (or something else hard and flat) to help squeeze out the air from the area you have just applied. That’s how I got rid of the bubbles!

Bubbles are caused when there is lint on the ipod screen or when air is trapped under the screen protector. There are special cloths that usually come with the screen protectors that you can use to wipe away all of the lint. Try applying it slowly after you have cleaned the screen of the ipod and if you see a bubble trying to form then remove the screen protector and wipe that area again and make sure the lint isn’t stuck to the screen protector. You can also use something to squeeze out the air as you apply it. Check the screen protector to see if you can find lint stuck to it. If it does have lint stuck to it then you’ll need to get a new one. I tried washing one once and it still had the lint stuck to it. Kind of makes you wish the ipod and phone companies would just include bubble free screen protectors that are already applied to the screen by machines or something.
Unfortunately to remove the screen protector, then reapply it, is a bigger headache then its worth. Do this,
Peel off about a centimeter of the screen protector from its non-sticky surface. Apply the small part of the screen protector, while the non sticky is attached still, to your iphone (or touch) in the appropriate area. As you start applying the screen protector use a credit card or any sort of card to flatten the protector as you work your way applying the protector. BE CAREFUL to not touch the screen protector because you will get microscopic bubbles!
its hard to follow without a video tutorial unfortunately. Here is one that may help you.

this is what you gotta do!
go to a place where there is little or no dust. sit there for about 2 min to allow all dust set that you might have kicked around.
apply one side of the screen proctor down on the bottom, with a credit card slide the proctor on, this will allow you to have no bubbles or dust!
