Does anyone know an affordable renter’s insurance that I can purchase additional insurance to cover my iPhone 3GS on? I used to use State Farm with an additional floater to cover my iPhone and MacBook, but they’ve since stopped covering iPhone.

They still cover phones if the value of the phone is over $ 400, that may vary by state. And that would be on a personal articles policy.
But the premium is so low agents make very little commission on it and there is a high chance of claims for it so it doesn’t make sense to write the policy. And, agents can choose to refuse to take the business if they choose. But it is probly better to stick with the insurance your cell phone company offers anyways.
And, remember renters insurance does not coverage breakage. Only the personal articles policy covers that.

If you’ve put claims in on Iphones in the past on renters insurance, likely NO ONE is going to give you a new renters insurance policy.
Go talk to a local INDEPENDENT agent, to see what your local options are.
